Bevel gears for your drive solution

Bevelled wheels made of steel

Bevel gears allow an angular transmission of torque and rotary motion in a drive with a transmission ratio of 1:1 to 1:4. G&G offers bevel gears / bevel gear sets that are designed and produced to transmit power at an angle of 90° between the drive shaft and the output shaft. Other angles are also possible as custom-made products.

Applications

Bevel gear pairs and bevel gearboxes are used in an extremely wide range of applications, such as mechanical and plant engineering, machine tools and automation technology in general. In conveyor belt drives, for example, bevel gears allow compact drive designs within the contour of the conveyor belt.

Designs

Bevel gears are often used when the torque between the drive and output shafts needs to be shifted by 90o. They are always used in pairs, as a crown wheel and bevel pinion. As standard, G&G sells bevel gears with straight toothing in type A and type B designs.

Gear ratios

The gear ratio of the bevel gear pair is determined by the ratio of the number of teeth in the crown wheel to the number of teeth in the bevel pinion. G&G bevel gears are supplied with a straight-toothed design with a pressure angle of 90o, a pressure angle of 20o and gear ratios from 1:1 to 1:4. Bevel gears with a gear ratio of 1:1 can also be ordered individually. All other combinations are only available in the form of bevel gear sets.

Straight-toothed bevel gears

Straight toothing is the most common and simplest type of toothing for bevel gear pairs. G&G offers alternative gearing methods as custom-made products.

Material

The standard bevel gear pairs offered by G&G are manufactured from C45 (1.0503). This heat-treated steel is characterised by a homogeneous structure. It is suitable for the construction of highly stressed components, which include drive elements. The profile of requirements for such elements includes such properties as high strength, wear resistance and toughness.

Custom-made products

Typical for G&G: In addition to our standard range, you can also order bevel gear sets from us as custom-made products – with helical, spiral or palloid toothing made of various materials and entirely according to a drawing or sample.
