Claw couplings for your drive solution

Claw coupling made of aluminium - backlash-free

G&G offers claw couplings in a wide range of variants and sizes. This type of coupling is used, for example, for connecting second shafts or at the interface between the electric motor and output shaft. Its typical characteristics include: Damping during start-up (torsional elasticity), fail-safety, and the compensation of axial, radial and angular displacement.

The G&G shaft coupling range is extremely extensive. Couplings made of grey cast iron and aluminium are available as well as torsionally flexible and backlash-free designs, as well as variants with split and slotted clamping hubs. The user can choose between different elastomer materials for the spider.

Further information on claw couplings

G&G claw couplings are torsionally flexible shaft connections consisting of two hub halves and an elastomer spider with a crowned tooth profile. They transmit rotary motion and torque. They also perform the additional function of damping shocks and vibrations in the drive system. Their torsional elasticity and thus the damping effect can be adjusted by selecting the hardness of the elastomer spider accordingly. Drive solutions compensate for axial, radial and angular displacement. G&G claw couplings are fail-safe. The couplings require little servicing and maintenance.

The coupling halves of G&G claw couplings are always pre-drilled.

An extensive product range

G&G claw couplings are available in either grey cast iron or aluminium.

The grey cast iron versions are particularly suitable for transmitting higher torques. The use of backlash-free aluminium claw couplings is recommended for precision applications in handling technology. Aluminium claw couplings also improve the energy efficiency of the overall drive. For positioning tasks in servo drives and/or reversing applications, claw couplings with split or slotted clamping hubs are often used, as these can be set and adjusted with particularly high precision.
