Idler sprockets with mounting kit
Idler sprockets made of steel(C45) straight from the specialist. G&G always supplies idler sprockets with mounting kit individually, not assembled – with one idler sprocket for SIMPLEX applications and two or three idler sprockets for DUPLEX and TRIPLEX applications. Idler sprockets consist of a G&G plate wheel in combination with a ball bearing and are used to guide and deflect roller chains. An idler sprocket can compensate for the elongation of the chain due to operation and optimise the overall running smoothness of the chain drive. This fundamentally improves not only the running smoothness but also the wear behaviour and service life, especially under permanently high loads due to speed and/or torque.

Idler sprockets in various designs
Idler sprockets are made of steel / C45 and toothed in accordance with DIN 8196. They are suitable for roller chains in sizes 06 B-1 to 20 B-1. G&G supplies idler sprockets ready for installation with sealed ball bearings on both sides. These are lubricated for the entire service life and can thus be used maintenance-free in a temperature range of −20°C to +120°C.
Idler sprockets, sprockets and plate wheels must match the geometry and dimensions of the teeth of the roller chains being used. This is regulated by the relevant DIN / ASA standards.
Idler sprockets are generally available in simplex, duplex and triplex designs. Stainless steel idler sprockets, sprockets and roller chains are mainly used in the food industry.
On request, we can also supply idler sprockets with a freely selectable number of teeth for SIMPLEX / DUPLEX / TRIPLEX applications, hardened, in special sizes and for roller chains in accordance with ANSI standard DIN 8188.
