Timing belts - open-end, made of polyurethane
Open-end timing belts made of thermoplastic polyurethane for automation and handling technology in roll lengths of 30 m, 50 m and 100 m. We offer open-end timing belts welded to endless belts in any desired length. Timing belts coated on the tooth side and coatings on the back surface of the belts, especially for transport and conveying applications, are available on request.

Open-end PU timing belts
Timing belt drives form the group of positive belt drives. Positioning accuracy and repeat accuracy are the outstanding properties of timing belt drives, which make them ideal for control applications in mechanical and plant engineering, among other applications. They are the preferred choice for automation and handling technology as well as transport and conveyor technology. The toothing on the running surface of a timing belt virtually eliminates belt slippage. The efficiency of a timing belt in terms of power transmission is correspondingly high, even at relatively high rotational and peripheral speeds. PU timing belts are also valued for their high tensile strength with comparatively low elongation. Timing belt drives are also used in the food industry due to their high resistance to lubricants, moisture and chemicals.
G&G timing belts are made of wear-resistant polyurethane elastomers (PU), which are reinforced in their core by high-quality tension members. At the request of the customer, open-end timing belts (sold by the metre) can be welded to form endless timing belts, e.g. for transport purposes. The respective belt ends are punched out in a finger shape, joined together and thermoplastically welded. The tension members then lie end to end in the area of the joint. The maximum permissible tensile force of a welded timing belt in this area is determined exclusively by the shape of the thermoplastic PU connection. As a general rule, the tensile force of a welded timing belt is only roughly 50% of the tensile force of a factory-extruded endless belt.
