Shaft collars for your drive solution
Shaft collars – a permanent fixture in the G&G Antriebstechnik GmbH product range. Users can choose between slotted and split designs as well as shaft collars for splined shafts. G&G shaft collars can be used for both directions of rotation. They are wear-free and maintenance-free. Typical for G&G: Beyond our standard range, our services also include machining and custom-made products based on drawings.

Shaft collar or set collar?
Shaft collarsare very simple mechanical engineering components that can be used to create a fixed stop on a shaft or to secure components axially on shafts. Compared to set collars, shaft collars enclose the shaft surface uniformly. The clamping force acts on almost the entire shaft surface. Assembly and fixing the collars on the shaft can be carried out with no risk of damage.
The advantage: Maintenance work, disassembly and readjustment can be carried out repeatedly and at any time with little effort.
Unlike shaft collars, set collars are fixed to the shaft with set screws at specific points. This type of fastening generally leads to deformation and damage to the shaft surface. The effort involved in disassembly, repair and readjustment is much greater than when using shaft collars.
Shaft collars – slotted or split, made of steel or stainless steel?
The G&G range of stock items includes shaft collars in a slotted design or, to simplify assembly, in a split design. You can choose between black-finished steel (C 45) and stainless steel. The black finish has a dual function: It ensures corrosion protection and reinforces the frictional connection between the shaft collar and the shaft. Chemically based methods of securing screws prevent the screw connections from loosening as a result of oscillations, vibrations and/or shocks. The goal here is to ensure that the shaft collars retain the best possible clamping force in the long term.
Shaft collars for splined shafts too …
G&G’s extensive range also includes shaft collars for splined shafts. An extended selection of materials is available for this range: Steel, stainless steel and gunmetal (RG7).
Custom-made products
